Keto Diet Foods

With so many diet fads out there, it can be confusing which one is truly right for you. Experts advice that you choose a diet that is proven to be effective and that you can stick to long-term. This is why we recommend the Ketogenic diet. Basically, this type of diet lets you eat very low carbohydrates, and that could mean somewhere around 5% low. Yes, it is not easy at first, but with discipline and knowing which foods you can actually eat, you will start loving this type of diet.

The Keto Diet lets you eat real food such as meat, vegetables, eggs, nuts, yogurt, and sometimes some fruit. Why do we say real food? Because your body needs these kinds of food, but it can survive with minimum carbohydrates. So, without further ado, here are the types of food that you can eat if you are considering the keto diet.

Protein: Organic is always best. Make sure that the meat you buy is grass-fed and raised in a pasture. However, remember that too much of anything can be bad and the same goes for meat. High quantity of meat is not a good thing so try to eat moderately.

Vegetables: You can never really go wrong with vegetables. Most veggies do not have high carbohydrates, but it is still better to stick with green leafy vegetables as much as you can.

Oil and fat: When we see the word “fat” and “oil”, most would cringe at the idea of consuming these. However, you should know that our body needs fat. The natural kind, that is. You can get it from nuts as well as meat. Olive oil, coconut oil, and butter are also good sources of fat.

Beverage: Always opt for water. It has zero calories and carbs. Most drinks that says low calorie drink almost always has high sugar content. If you want to have a little bit of flavor in your drink, try squeezing a bit of lemon or lime.

If you have some favorite dish that you want to eat, you can get creative and turn it into low carb meal. There are so many ways that you can cook healthy meals without the carbs. Make your meals tasty by using spices such as cayenne pepper, cinnamon, cumin. Oregano, basil, cilantro, and so much more. Being on a Keto diet does not mean you have to eat bland food.
